Social Blogging
I’m definitely finding new and interesting microblogs, tumblelogs, or whatever you want to call them through tumblr’s dashboard. Fred Wilson has nice post on social blogging (reblogged below). I’ve found that reblogging helps when you want to comment on someone’s post through your own tumblelog and provides another mechanism to “discuss” things in context. Reblogging is a different mechanism than leaving a comment on someone else’s blog and it offers interesting ways to add value to these online conversations. Fred’s post below:I came across this highly reblogged quote about tumblr last night:
I
think it needs a new classification. “Blog” is misleading and doesn’t
describe the experience of using it. Maybe something like “sharing
community” or “facebook but with stuff.”
It stuck in my brain and woke me up at 4:30 in the morning. Because I’ve been thinking the same thing. Yesterday I drew this chart on our whiteboard in the USV conference room for Bijan and Albert.
